Wordshark and Numbershark work in similar ways. Most of the following error messages apply to both programs.  These error messages are based on Wordshark release 3s.05 and 3s.06 onwards, and earlier releases have minor differences.

Incorrect runtime parameter for WORDSHARK  is displayed if the program is unable to find the correct drive or path for some of our files. This may be because a directory has had its name changed, or been moved or deleted, or does not have the necessary permissions. Check paths, filenames and permissions, and check that installation was carried out whilst signed on with full administrator rights.
Incorrect parameters for WORDSHARK This is normally due to a corrupted install. Related to the above, try uninstalling and reinstalling.
Wordshark cannot be run without the CD in place This may happen if the CD is scratched or damaged,    Details     or the CD drive is not working as it should. It is also likely to occur if the disk is pirated or illegally copied.  
It can also occur in rare cases if the CD drive is unable to read copy-protected disks: Check the CD is not damaged or dirty, and check whether the CD drive firmware has an update available.
Failed [xxxx] check - file length: This is most likely to happen if a CD is damaged    Details   or illegally copied.
Server not available - running locally Is displayed if:
It is a network version and the server is not available. Note that it is possible to set the program to work on the client computers if the network server is unreliable.
