Hidden Files:
In later versions of “Windows” it is possible to “hide” files and folders so they are not visible when exploring via “my computer” or “Explorer”. To check permissions or to back up, you need to be able to see them by unhiding them.
To see them:
a) Go in as administrator,
b) Right-click “Start” and choose “explore all users”
c) Go as far down the required path as you can,
d) Go up to tools / Folder Options / View / Then, in the “Advanced settings” panel below, look down below “Files and Folders” to “Hidden files and folders” and select the “Show hidden files and folders” button. “OK” this.
e) Click “View / Refresh”.
f) You should then be able to view the full path, and find the required folder. This may be wordshark-shared (“Shark-shared” if you have a version Wordshark 3S.02 or earlier), or numbershark-shared (“nshark-shared” if you have a version Numbershark 3S.03 or earlier).
We recommend that you re-hide the folders after working on them.
