7. Old versions and XP
The earliest versions of Numbershark and Wordshark that were designed to work with XP are Numbershark 3.01 and Wordshark 3.01
Earlier versions, which we no longer support, do not normally run well (or at all) on XP, as these were designed for earlier operating systems. We recommend that you trade your old version in to us and upgrade to the latest version.
If upgrading is not an option for you, XP has a “Compatibility” feature that may work to allow limited functionality if you have installed your early version onto your XP machine.
Either:
click on the program desktop icon, go to “Properties”, “Compatibility Tab”, and try its features
Or:
Use the Program Compatibility Wizard in Accessories under “Start/All programs”. This wizard prompts you to test your program in different modes (environments) and with various settings.

As a start, try 256 colours and screen size of 640x 480, Windows 95, disable visual themes.
