Very few problems have been reported to us from Apple Macintosh users, so please contact us if you find any issues not covered below.
All versions:
 - Check compatibility

 - Check  the program has been installed correctly. Refer to your installation guide within the main program manual (for standalone versions) or the separate installation booklet (front of CD case for network versions)
Common Error Messages:
Error message: “Cannot launch Java Application: Uncaught exception in main method”
 Errors after carrying out a  Java Liveupdate
 Error due to Mac Parental Controls - e.g. “Wordshark 3s cannot be run with the limitations set".
“Error Code 10”

All versions to 3.08
A) Graphics Problems
 B) The program icon bounces a few times, then nothing happens
3.06 Version:
 - On 3.06 versions, we are aware of two problems, corrected in later versions,  which do not significantly affect the program:
                  A) If you have a number of students logged on to the program at the same computer at the same time, switching users should change the green centre box “Settings for [name]”. On some Macs this does not happen. Although the user changes, the green centre box still has the name for the previous user. Solution - If you need to have multiple users on the program at the same time, please contact Support for the patch.
                  B) On a small number of (usually lower powered) Macs, the “Maze” game runs poorly if you have chosen to draw your own maze and have chosen a high level of complexity.  Please allow the computer to generate the maze, to a low or moderate degree of  complexity.
Networks:
 We have found a number of Mac networks where permissions have not been set correctly, leading to malfunctions. Version 4.05 adds coding designed to ease this process. Contact Support if your Mac network malfunctions.
Previous Versions:
 Versions of Wordshark and Numbershark  Wordshark 3s.05 & Numbershark 3.05  and earlier, are not compatible with the Mac: Please contact Sales for upgrade prices.
