Note 3

4.08 (Dec 11)

Note 1:  Earlier versions of Wordshark and Numbershark normally run but experience some graphics/sound issues with changes made by these later operating systems.

- In the “Leopard” operating system,  for Wordshark 3s.06-3s.08, and for Numbershark 3.06-4.02, the login box on the initial screen may disappear. Please click into the login box before entering your user name. If you click outside the login box, the login may disappear behind the sharks. If this happens, please minimise, then maximise, to regain the login box, OR close and restart the program.

If the Mac Dock is positioned down the left side of the screen, graphics will malfunction. Please move the dock to the top, bottom or right edge. Double-clicking some menu items may result in a grey screen or flashing. A single click works.   We advise that you upgrade to our later releases.    Contact Sales

Note 1a: When Mac updated Java to 1.5, this introduced some graphics problems  including “Click to view subadministrator, menu bars occasionally remaining on -screen, and on-screen keypad disappearing behind the games screen. In some cases, it is not possible to enter text into the logon box.  Issues resulting from this Mac update were corrected in v4.05

Note 2: “Drag and Drop” does not  always work at first attempt. It does work if you repeat the operation.  It appears from forums that other software is similarly affected, so we await a possible Mac update.

Note 3:  A small number of schools (almost all in New Zealand) have experienced permissions issues with their network versions as a result of network-wide policies. A small number have found that on-screen keypads have not displayed correctly.  Network release 4.05 includes additional coding that addresses both issues. Please contact us if your school network (any version) appears to function less than perfectly.

Note 4:  A rare permission problem causing an “Error code 10”, affects users of  OSX 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 when signed on under different user names. This issue was corrected in version 4.04

We cannot guarantee that any version of our programs will continue to run if installed onto later releases of operating systems as compatibility is under the control of Apple.

Mac OSX 10.7 “Lion” is supported from v4.08, available from Nov 11 (Wordshark) & Dec 11 (Numbershark).  Specify “Version 4.08 for Lion” when ordering. If you have bought 4.07, contact us for a patch. Contact Sales for an upgrade if you have an earlier release than 4.07 and wish to run on “Lion” OSX10.7..
