2. Graphic Problems
On all versions, on any Windows operating system:
A) The program installs, but when you try to run it, it freezes at the login box (or the login box disappears, or is difficult to type into)  OR menus fail to drop down OR blocky bits of program are left all over the screen

B) The program installs, you are able to log on, but when you try to play games the cursor disappears OR  you get a grey screen instead of a games screen:

On version 3.05 only, on some Apple Macintosh computers:
Games freeze after being played 3-5 times, and/or grey boxes appear instead of games: Contact support

On all versions, on PC and Mac, problems with graphics if toolbar is placed vertically down left hand of screen:  Known issue, resolved in releases after June 06. For earlier versions, please move your toolbar to any other screen edge.

Running Supernova in combination with either Wordshark or Numbershark, you may experience intermittent freezing, text or graphics "left behind" or problems with pulldown menus.

B) The program installs, you are able to log on, but when you try to play games the cursor disappears OR  you get a grey screen instead of a games screen:

This is because the Wordshark cursor being used cannot be found..  To fix:  Press “Escape” to return  to the main games or word lists screen. Go to the top centre green box “Settings for [username]” / Sprite Choices and choose a different sprite. Known Issue:
Whilst some games work well (e.g. All the dictionary games) others, such as “Sharks” show only a gray screen. The “help” F1 key works, and “Esc” returns the user to the main screen.

This is due to an incorrect path being set up for the user’s “sprites”, normally due to a non-standard install. The “fix” is to go to “Settings for [user]” (green box, top centre of main screens), go to “Choose sprite” and change to a different sprite.  On networks, it may be necessary to do this on particular machines if they have been set up differently to others on the network.
Known Issue:

C) With Numbershark 3.07, on older machines and operating systems (W98, W95) the login box does not form correctly
