FAQ 5: We have lost our administrator password.
You need to sign on as an administrator to carry out many of the “teacher functions” such as adding new users, changing student passwords, selecting lists of work or games, and much more.
Any administrator can sign on, go to Admin / Add and manage students / and from the following screen create new administrators, view other administrators and change their names or passwords.
The problem comes when you have only one administrator, and that person loses their password. We always advise having more than one administrator.
Versions Wordshark 3s.06 and later, or Numbershark 3.06 and later:
Start up the program. On the opening screen, click File / List of administrators.
Contact us by phone or from an official school email address, with a note of the administrators. We will be able to give you a replacement password.
Earlier versions:
This is less easy, particularly if you wish to retain student data. Email us, and we will send detailed instructions to you.
