Error message “Could not write license data!  Please contact Customer Support for further instructions”

This may occur for a number of  reasons. Please click to “Launch Analysis”. You should quickly be given a message such as:

"The information was successfully collected and stored to the following file:
C:\\Users\\Admin\\Desktop\\AnalysisLog.sr0
Please forward this file to support@securom.com

Please do as requested, but also copy it to ourselves, support@wordshark.co.uk Allow 3-4 days for a response from Securom, and follow their suggestions. Keep copies of what is suggested in case you need our support later.

The following “fix” is often suggested, and is worth trying immediately:
For XP machines:
1) Open the command line by pressing "Start" and selecting the "Run..." option.
2) Type "cmd" (without "s) and push the [Enter] button on the keyboard.
3) Type in the following command:    rd /s "%APPDATA%\SecuROM"    and press [Enter] on the keyboard.
4) Answer Y to the Y/N question and press [Enter] to complete the process.
5) Launch the program again.

                               For Win7 machines:
1)Press the Windows icon (on the keyboard) once, and click the “search” bar (screen, bottom left)
2)Type   CMD
3) Right-click the CMD.EXE that the search finds.
4) Select “Run as Administrator”, and click “YES” if asked if you wish to run this program.
5) Type in the following command:    rd /s "%APPDATA%\SecuROM"    and press [Enter] on the keyboard.
4) Answer Y to the Y/N question and press [Enter] to complete the process.
5) Type “Exit” and press [Enter] to exit the Command Prompt.
6) Restart the PC.
7) Launch the program again.

In some cases, a restricted user’s profile has become corrupted. It is also worth trying to create a new restricted user profile: This occasionally works.
To do this, go to:
1. Start button in lower left hand corner
2. Go up to Settings, then to Control Panel
3. Inside Control Panel folder, go down to User Accounts
4. Follow the directions within this area for the creation of a new”Restricted User” Account.
5. Sign in as the new restricted user, and launch the program again.
