There are no reported conflicts on Apple Macintosh computers.
The following are known conflicts with 3rd party software on PCs:
Securus:
This is known not to work with Wordshark or Numbershark. The firm’s product scans the screen frequently for inappropriate language. This scanning, plus the graphics power needed to run our software, normally results in freezing. We understand that it is possible to disable the scanning by Securus whilst our program is running.
Anti-Virus Software (including Norton, Symantec, McAfee, Sophos, Windows Defender, etc.)
Daemon Tools, Alcohol, Nero, Clone CD and similar CD copying programs:
These utilities need to be uninstalled or disabled whilst Wordshark or Numbershark are being installed or run.
Virtual CD Drives
These must be disabled before running the single user versions. Network versions are not affected.
Impero Security Software
Running with Impero can result in an eaccess violation message for restricted users.
Impero have suggested the following, which have so far always worked:
A) Stop the Impero Workstation service. Browse to the system32 folder and rename the Impero.dll to Impero1.dll. Start the Impero Workstation service. Does it work now?
B) Do as before but this time rename the RControl.dll to rcontrol1.dll. Does it work now?
C) Add the network path to the Exceptions Folder.
Dolphin Supernova:
We are aware that running Supernova version 6.51 in combination with either Wordshark or Numbershark, you may experience intermittent freezing, text or graphics "left behind" or problems with pull-down menus.
These problems cease when Supernova is closed. We have found that running our “Fixgraphics” utility overcomes this conflict, allowing our programs and Supernova to work together. Note that other versions of Supernova may be similarly affected.
Please visit www.dolphincomputeraccess.com and try the most recent version of this software to determine whether Dolphin have been able to fix the problem.
Dophin Computer Access Ltd has confirmed that the screen corruption may alternatively be resolved as follows:
1. Open the Supernova control panel with LEFT
CONTROL+SPACEBAR
2. Open the "Configuration" menu with ALT+C
3. CURSOR DOWN to "Video Engine" and ENTER
4. TAB to the "Direct Draw / GDI+ compatibility mode"
checkbox and press SPACEBAR to select this.
5. TAB to "OK" and ENTER.
The screen will go blank for a moment then the display will return correctly.
